Devonport Shotokan Karate Club was founded by Colin Putt sensei in September 1979. Since then it has produced 65 black belts (up to 5th Dan), some of them now running their own clubs all over the world. DSKC students successfully compete in national and international competitions gaining many medals and trophies, so much that they earned the nickname ‘caretakers’ because they always made a clean sweep.

The club is run by Colin Putt sensei as the Chief instructor who currently provides sessions twice a week, assisted by his senior students.
