Membership regulations

The principle and ethos of SKDUN is to bring together various Shotokan karate organisations for Competitions and Budo karate development. The membership to SKDUN is per country.

Member countries can be represented by only one Director per country. Large countries can appoint Associate director/s (must be approved by SKDUN).

Any Shotokan karate martial arts association or individual dojo may apply for membership to SKDUN.

First year membership is probationary. SKDUN reserves the right not to renew the membership further.

For following years, the membership is renewable annually and the fee must be paid in October (for the upcoming year).

Existing members must apply for membership renewal online on the SKDUN website (Membership renewal application form). Payment must be made and new Terms of reference acceptance form (TORs) signed.

New members must apply for membership online on the SKDUN website and submit their karate CV, passport type photo and copy of their dan grading certificates (Membership application form). The membership will be subject to approval by members of the Executive board.

Failure to renew/pay the membership fee will result in termination of the country membership. New applicants from the country could then be considered.

SKDUN reserves the right to terminate any membership in case of serious breach of SKDUN constitution, competition rules and other regulations as determined by Disciplinary committee.
