Our competition is back this year and promises to be as big as ever. 10am start. 9am registration
This is an Open tournament where all associations are welcome. We encourage all associations/clubs attending to volunteer at least 1 referee to ensure a smooth running and fair competition.
This year we are doing registration on the day. Planned Age Categories subject to numbers are:
6 and Unders
8 and Unders
10 and Unders
12 and Unders
14 and Unders
15 to 17 years
18 to 21 years
40 years and over
There will be a Kohai category (upto 4th kyu) and a Brown/Blackbelt for each age group.
There is Kata and Kumite for all ages, and a Kihon Kumite event for all the groups under 12.
Kumite rules are Shobu Ippon ( 2 Wazari ) and finals are Shobu Sanbon (6 Wazari)
€20 fee covers both Kata and Kumite

Three days of training with our Technical director and other senior instructors, sensei Colin Putt, Aurel Patru, Serge Trappeniers, Latchezar Nenov, Yasuyoshi Saito and more.
Special advanced session for invited referees only.
Low cost for high value training for all our members. Focus on gaining knowledge and understanding.

Worcester Shotokan Karate Club are pleased to announce that they are hosting a seminar with Hanshi Sadashige Kato 9th Dan, IJKA World Chief Instructor.
The seminar on Saturday 12th October 2019 at Nunnery Wood Sports Complex, Worcester, is open to all IJKA karateka and Shotokan karateka from other affiliations are also welcome.
Registration for the seminar will close on Friday 4th October 2019 at the latest.

Tickets will be sent by email-reply to all advance registration requests. Due to the limited capacity of the venue, admission on the day without a ticket will not be possible.

As part of our series of European seminars, Okinawa Shogen-Ryu Karate-Do Europe will be holding an Okinawan karate and kobudo seminar at the Radission Blu Hotel, Dublin Airport, Dublin, Ireland on the 9th and 10th of November 2019.
This 2 day seminar will include an in-depth exploration of the kihons, kata, applications and culture of Okinawan karate along with some Yamane Ryu kobudo classes.

Tommy Butler has been training in shotokan for over 28 years and has trained under a variety of instructors over the years.
Tommy passed shodan under Kawasoe in 1998 in Cork.
He has spent years training with Aidan Trimble where he graded for both sandan and yondan before grading for godan under Scott Langley in 2017.
He has also spent time with Kase’s group in Australia for over 2 and a half years.
He has much competitive success and won numerous national kata titles while placing 2nd in the WTKO Europeans in kata and winning the team Kata event for Ireland.
He won a world silver medal kata medal at the IJKA world championships in 2017.
Tommy trains full time and teaches at the hombu dojo in Dublin with Scott Langley Sensei.
