It is with deep regret and sadness that we have to report the passing of Rajendran K Sensei from India.

Sensei Rajendran first tasted the spirit of Karate during his childhood in 1979 under the guidance of Sensei Dr. K. Annamalai (KyoKushin Kai Style). Success came, as he got acquainted with various styles of Karate like Goju-Ryu, Shorin-Ryu & Shotokan under various Grand Masters around the world.

Sensei Rajendran paid due respect & homage to Master Funakoshi for developing Shotokan form of Karate and founded the Shotokan Karate Federation India, which is affiliated to Shotokan Karate-Do United Nations.

Sensei practiced Shotokan Karate regularly and ensured his students followed the same regime of study.

Sensei Rajendran has effectively trained and guided his students to participate and win the State, National & International Tournaments, which includes winning Medals of Honour at the SKDUN World Championships held in 2008 at Lons-Le-Saunier, France, Novi Sad-Serbia in 2013, and Subotica-Serbia in 2015 representing India.

Sensei Rajendran K was also National Representative of SKDUN in India, and had actively trained instructors from different countries in order to spread Shotokan Karate throughout the World.  He had also represented the country in various World Competitions held by the Shotokan Karate Do of United Nations.

Sensei Rajendran’s knowledge in the field of martial arts was recognized by the Indian Army and he was awarded with a Certificate of Honour for training their cadets.

Apart from being one of the most sought after Karate Instructors, he was also a good sportsman with interest in diverse sports.

Thus he upheld the principles of Shotokan mainly humility, respect, compassion and patience both towards inward and outward calmness and was trying to develop his character to a perfection.

Sensei Rajendran will be missed by all his Karate colleagues and friends.

For and on behalf of the SKDUN Board of Directors and the membership of SKDUN Worldwide.
